Deputies of Bright Armenia Faction Meet with a Group of Young Representatives from the Cabinet of EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn

On February 26, the deputies of the RA NA Bright Armenia Faction met with a group of young representatives from the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR), in the cabinet of Commissioner Johannes Hahn. Welcoming the guests in the parliament the Secretary of the Faction Gevorg Gorgisyan touched upon the policy adopted by the party, the directions of the activity and the upcoming programmes.

The Junior Professional of the Cooperation Section from the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia Carmen Grlica has noted that the goal of the meeting is to get familiarized with the reforms going on in the country and get answers to the questions concerning some political agenda priorities.

The parliamentarians presented the situation created after the power shift in Armenia, touched upon the vision of the economic revolution, the challenges of the democracy development, the involvement of the civil society in the process of the reforms, the development of the marzes, the anti-corruption strategy and the issues on the RA-EU cooperation.

Gevorg Gorgisyan has noted that the partnership with the European Union is of significant importance and has expressed hope that the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) by the member countries will be quickly ratified.

The MPs answered the questions relating to the transitional justice, the freedom of the mass media, the role of the opposition, the new government programme, the protection of human rights and the legislative works.
